How to password protect Adobe PDF documents

First, open the PDF document you would like to protect. Click the File menu, select the Protect using Password option.
Select whether you want to password protect against viewing or if you want to password protect against editing. Enter your password then click OK.
Enter the password again to confirm it and click OK.
The Adobe PDF is now protected. Each time you open or try to modify the PDF, (depending on the option previously selected), you will be prompted to enter your password to access its contents.
