Frequently Asked Question
Things you'll need:
- a mobile device with an active DUO enrollment
- a company directory account (this is your I drive account) and looks like one of these:
- 'itech\, e.g. itech\cesar.castillo
- @itechus.local, e.g. cesar.castillo@itechus.local
- a pre-configured connection on your computer. If you have one, it will be called "Rise IT Solution"
Launch the vpn client (2 ways - there are more)
First Method:
1. click the WiFi icon in the system tray, (lower right hand corner), you should see the "Rise IT Solutions" option and corresponding "Connect" button near the top of the window that results.
2. Select "Connect" to initiate the connection
4.When the initial authentications pass, you will receive this alert on the mobile device that you've enrolled in DUO: This is verifying the identity of the account presented in the VPN initiation.
5. If you are you, and you are attempting to log into Rise IT Solutions, then select that identity verification challenge from DUO. to be presented with the ability to approve or deny the connection.
6. If you launch the DUO client then you will see this challenge. Approve only if you are attempting to log into work.
Select Deny if you are not trying to log in as it indicates that someone else is pretending to be you to gain access to our network.
7. You should now be connected to the network, (assuming you selected "Approve")
8. To disconnect, once again, select the wifi icon and select the "Disconnect" button from the "Rise IT Solutions" option
Second Method:
1. enter 'VPN' in the windows search bar
2. Select "Add a VPN connection" from the search results
3. Select "Rise IT Solutions', and select "Connect" to initiate the connection
